1981 Delorean For Sale
The Delorean is a rear engine, two door, two seater sports car manufactured from 1981 to 1983. The first production car was completed on January 21st, 1981. Over the time of production, Delorean made minor revisions to the hood, interior and wheels. Production ended in December 1982, shortly after DMC filed for bankruptcy. Engines in these vehicles were powered by a 2.85 liter PRV engine. They were rated at 130 horsepower and 153 lb ft torque. Total production was around 9,000 cars. These vehicles were widely known when featured as the time machine in the Back to the Future movies.
1981 Delorean. This car has just come out of long term ownership. Comes with its original 2.85 PRV engine with a manual gearbox. The car does run and drive but will require more work to be 100% roadworthy. Believed to be 21,808 original miles. We have installed an upgraded fuel pump, cleaned the fuel tank, new fuel filter, two new injectors and a rebuilt warm up regulator. Has four wheel disc brakes. Has four matching wheels.
The interior of the vehicle is complete, but will require some restoration. Has the original steering wheel and gauge cluster. The dash has not been cut up. Doors go up and down without any problems. Has the factory spare tire. All the glass is there and in good shape. Comes with a clean California title.
