1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe For Sale
The Porsche 911 is a two-door, high performance rear engine sports car. The 911 was introduced in September 1964. It has a rear engined flat six engine and all round independent suspension. It has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained unchanged. The engines were air cooled until the introduction of the type 996 in 1998, with the 993, produced from 19941998 model years, being the last of the air-cooled Porsche sports cars. The 911 has been modified by private teams and by Porsche itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition. It is among the most successful competition cars. In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. It featured a 3.0 liter aluminum engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a five speed 915 transmission. Porsche moved to an aluminum engine to regain case reliability, something missing for many years with magnesium. 911 SC sales totaled 58,914 cars.
