1981 Mercedes 380SL For Sale
The Mercedes 380SL's were first introduced in 1980 and lasted until 1985. The 380SL was a further development of the R107 chassis which was first introduced in 1972. Like the previous years the 380SL had a V8 engine, refined luxury, sporty underpinnings, and was very popular in its run. These cars had emission controls in mind, which meant that horsepower wasn't much different than the 450SL. The 380SL did get an improvement to the transmission. They were changed from a three speed automatic to a four speed automatic.
This 1981 Mercedes 380SL was with the previous owner for many years. The vehicle does start off of pouring gas into the intake. Has the original V8 engine with the original automatic transmission. Has all five matching wheels. Original spare wheel is there. Very solid car. As far as we know it has the original paint.
The interior on the car will have to have work done. Soft top doesn't have any rips or tears. Gauge cluster is there and undamaged. All the glass is in good condition. Has the original steering wheel. Seats do need to be done. Great car at a great price. Clean California title in hand and currently on non op.
