1968 Pontiac Gto For Sale
When 1968 came around the Pontiac Gto was selected as the motor trend car of the year. The first generation Gto was from 1964-1967. 1968 was the first year for the second generation and went on until 1972. These cars went from the vertical stacked headlights to the horizontal headlights and some even had the option of hideaway lights. Hood now had two scoops instead of one from the previous years. Power rose in 1968. The base model engine was a 400 cubic inch that had 350 horsepower. At that time in 1968 Hot Rod magazine called the Gto the best balanced car Pontiac had ever built.
This 1968 Pontiac Gto was with the same owner for many years. The vehicle has been sitting in the dry southern part of Utah for many years. Hasn't been on the road since the late 70's/ early 80's. Has a 1967 Pontiac 400 engine with an automatic transmission. Has the desirable dual gate hurst shifter. We did get the engine to start off of pouring some gas into the carburetor. Has power steering, power brakes and was a factory A/C car. All four wheels match. As far as we know the car used to have the hideaway headlights.
The interior on the car will have to be done, but it is all there. Has bucket seats and a console. Vehicle rolls and steers. The frame on the car is solid. It does have rust but all the metal required isn available. We do have a clean Utah title. The car is missing very few items and will require a restoration. Here is the chance to own a real Gto for a low price.
