Description

1968 Jaguar E-Type For Sale

The Jaguar E-Type is a British sports car that was manufactured by Jaguar from 1961 to 1974. Its combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established the model as an icon of the motoring world. Jaguar claimed the E-Type would do 150 mph top speed and do 0-60 in under seven seconds. Monocoque construction, four wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, and independent front and rear suspension distinguished the car and spurred industry wide changes. On its release on March 15,1961 Enzo Ferrari called it 'the most beautiful car ever made'. Following the Series 1 there was a transitional series of cars built in 196768 unofficially called 'Series 1'. American 1968 E-Types had open headlights, rocker switches, two Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, ribbed cam covers painted black except for the top brushed aluminum ribbing, bonnet frames on the OTS that have two bows, and other changes. Series 1 cars also have twin cooling fans and adjustable seat backs.

This 1968 Jaguar E-Type is a two owner car. I am the second owner and have owned it since 2014. This car is the more desirable coupe instead of a two plus two. The car has a 1970 Jaguar E-Type engine with a four speed manual gearbox. The vehicle does run and drive but will require the brake booster to be repaired before being 100% roadworthy. Over the years of owning the car I have installed new Gaz front shocks, rebuilt the carburetors, installed a new Bell stainless steel exhaust system, Valves have been adjusted, recored the radiator, installed two cool cat fans, new water pump, new upper and lower ball joints, etc. The vehicle does come with power brakes.

The interior on the car is all there but will require a restoration. All the gauges work. Has all five wire wheels. The knock-off tool and Thor hammer are included as is some other parts. The cover underneath the car is there but left it off due to repairing the brake booster. The previous owner had told me that the car was originally British racing green with a green interior. The windows roll up and down with ease. Glass is in good condition with no cracks or chips. Has a clean California title in my name and is on non op. Very solid car and would be a great project.

Please contact us for more information and to book a time to view the vehicle.
